The notes on their Bandcamp page says that the album was recorded in a cave, but there’s definitely something subterranean about the dingy lo-fi surf aesthetic of this album. Though unlike a lot of lo-fi productions the muscular drumming never gets lost under the mountains of surf reverb and fuzz. The Cum Bats definitely have a sound that’s infectious, even through their 11+ minute long burner ending “James”.
