There’s something dark and gritty to the sound of Girls in Synthesis’ “The Mound” it’s a song that explores the sonic territory that really hasn’t been well documented since the heyday of post-punk. With lyrics that reference the occult, and an underlying sense of existentialist dread — the song feels as 1979 as is does 2017. However, the times aren’t so different, and maybe this is exactly the right sound for this movement. I honestly can’t wait to hear the rest of their album.
